Feathered Friend

This cheery little chickadee will welcome you everyday and hopefully help to brighten your room and your outlook. Careful application of pastels and pastel pencils c0mbined with patience achieve this realistic feather texture and the texture of the branch. Brown, tan, black, and white bird with a softened, blended blue, grey-blue, with a bit of green and light yellow…colors of nature to coordinate with your color palette and bring nature into your home. It was challenging and fun to capture the image of this cute little bird and the textures with art materials. In the past few years I have enjoyed doing pastel paintings of birds. I have taken on the challenge of creating the feathers, details, and bark textures. These are representational; I may incorporate birds in semi-abstract art in the future.
