"Matisse Goes to Egypt" intertwines Matisse-inspired elements with bits of Egypt's ancient symbols, pattern, form and map. The spiral and curve elements Matisse has used in his paintings are evident and bring a harmonious flow to the artwork. My love for blue gives the piece a soothing yet dynamic ambience. With this art, I have explored and experimented as I combined various mediums: acrylics,pastels, paper collage and a touch of oil pastel and watercolor pencil. Th interplay of line, shapes, and a harmonious blend of warm, cool and neutral colors help to add depth and intrigue to this contemporary work of art.
