I created this original pastel painting using a reference photo that I took as I stood gazing in awe at the beautiful blue sea, partially obstructed by the flowering shrubs. This view was along the steep road ascending to a monastery. as you could imagine, it takes some patience to represent the details of this landscape in a realistic way.
