Golden Hour Colors: Harmony in Hues
Explore the alluring harmony of "Golden Hour Colors," a 12” by 12” mixed media painting on wood panel that seamlessly blends vibrant hues, intriguing shapes, and captivating text. This contemporary mixed media painting is a testament to my precise process, where every collage element is thoughtfully chosen and strategically placed to orchestrate a harmonious visual symphony.
At first glance, the warm tones of orange, rust, red-orange, cream, and brown immediately draw you in, invoking the cozy and comforting atmosphere of a sunset during the golden hour. The artist skillfully contrasts these rich, warm colors with a soft, desaturated celadon green, adding depth and balance to the composition.
One of the most intriguing aspects of "Golden Hour Colors" is the incorporation of various shapes, including distinctive letter shapes and text. These elements not only add a layer of complexity to the artwork but also invite viewers to engage in a visual exploration, decoding the hidden messages within the layers of paint and collage.

This work of art gave me many opportunities to make decisions with the selection and placement of collage elements. My thoughtful approach to the addition of various papers made throughout the creative process became frustrating, as a difficult puzzle could be.
